Students like wobbly seats

We’re happy to have funded these (and other) seats that help kids get their wiggles out while not disrupting the classroom.

Support the Sunnyvale Education Foundation

The Sunnyvale Education Foundation had an incredibly successful year with the help of our generous donors! We more than quadrupled our fundraising from $29,500 to $135,000, all of which has or will soon be spent supporting our schools and student activities.

We are committed to helping all schools in the district, and we have funded projects on every campus this past year. For example, we helped students learn to be more compassionate at Bishop and encouraged cross-generational literacy by supporting a bilingual family reading program at Sunnyvale Middle School. We sent San Miguel students to the Exploratorium and helped defray the cost to send fifth graders from across the district to Walden West science camp. In addition, we provided funding to bring the Marine Science Institute’s invertebrates lab to Columbia Middle School and flexible seating to Cherry Chase and Cumberland.

This is possible through the support of our generous donors, community members and parents like you who believe in our students. Your financial contribution will continue to bring field trips, tuberculosis testing, social/emotional health programs, STEM programs, classroom materials, music and art classes, and many other benefits to our students. Donors like you helped us nearly double our commitment to science camp, increasing our grant total from $8,200 last year to $15,000 this year.

Every donation counts! Thank you so much for your support.

Make a year-end donation today!

The Sunnyvale Education Foundation had an amazing year! We exist to help the schools create a better learning environment, and last school year we raised nearly $30,000 to achieve that goal. Then we did great things with that money, including providing field trip buses, science kits, anti-bullying assemblies, art classes, and more. So far this school year, we hosted two tuberculosis testing events for volunteers district-wide. We also provided $12,000 to fund field trips for Title I schools and another $10,000 in grants for all district schools.

Our schools suffer from the same state funding financial shortfalls as all public schools in California and we need your help. Your financial contribution will continue to bring field trips, tuberculosis testing, classroom materials, music and art classes, and many other benefits to our students. Donors like you sent nearly 30 fifth grade students to science camp last year by giving more than $8,000, and we would like to send even more students this year. None of this is possible without you.

Make a difference by contributing today or sending us a check to 819 W Iowa St, Sunnyvale, CA 94086. Corporate matches are also welcome. SEF is an IRS Section 501(c)3 nonprofit, and your gift qualifies as a charitable deduction on your federal tax return. Our tax ID is 47-3825871.

Every donation counts! Thank you so much for your support.

A big thanks to LinkedIn! They’re supporting Sunnyvale Education Foundation through a generous donation. We couldn’t support the Sunnyvale School District without their help.

Donate to pay for a student’s science camp fees

Did you know…

  • All fifth grade students in SSD go to science camp for one week?
  • Some schools are still raising funds for those students, even though the students have already gone to science camp?
  • Sunnyvale Education Foundation will match donations made by May 24, up to $5000 to help with that gap?

It’s true! A donation of $300 would pay for one student’s full science camp tuition, but anything, even $10, will help. Thank you for your support!
